It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Adorable Alpacas!

Learn all about adorable alpacas on a 90 minute guided tour at YaYa's Alpaca Farm - you will never want to leave! The farm, located about 45 minutes south of Kansas City, is a fun outing for both kids and adults. After listening to YaYa tell his very personal story of how he started the farm, go outside and mingle with the alpacas, feed and pet them, and take tons of photos! The tour ends back inside where you learn how they make a variety of items out of alpaca fleece. (You may even get recruited to help out!)

What tour (that is obviously geared for kids) have you loved as an adult?

Ever since traveling to Peru and first spending time with alpacas, I've been wanting to tour an alpaca farm in the US. We finally made it happen at YaYa's Alpaca Farm - less than an hour away from Kansas City.

What was supposed to be a 90 minute tour lasted over two hours, and I loved every minute of it! YaYa does a great job with sharing some of his life story and how he started the farm. The loving alpacas seem to like having visitors, making it so hard to leave!

Fun facts: When an alpaca feels threatened by a fellow member of the herd, it may spit at the other alpaca! Unlike many other farm animals, alpacas gravitate to the same pile to relieve themselves. They do not leave piles all over the farm!
