A coastal drive is a must do for any scenery lover who has plans to visit Cape Town, South Africa. Between the Twelve Apostles mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, the stretch of Victoria Road from Kloof Nek to Hout Bay takes at least thirty minutes by car - but plan for more so you have time for stops to soak in the beauty along the way, especially if you are the driver. It's hard to decide what makes it so breathtaking - is it the beaches, rock formations, mountain peaks or ocean?

At the recommendation of a former neighbor born and raised in Cape Town, we took a full-day tour to the Cape of Good Hope. Along the way south, we drove on Victoria Road between the Atlantic Ocean and the mountain range known as the Twelve Apostles. The drive has to be one of the most scenic anywhere!
Fun fact: With the name "The Twelve Apostles", you might assume that there are 12 peaks in the mountain range. That assumption would be wrong as there are actually 18!
