Located on a hill in the Iberian Peninsula, the imposing Alhambra complex has a view over all of Granada. The Alhambra has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. Some say that the Alhambra is the number one reason why Granada is often referred to as the most beautiful city in Spain. What started solely as a citadel, a part of the Alhambra became the Nasrid Palaces which included space for administration, a residence for the king plus a private area.

Scott was a little under the weather by the time we made it to Granada, but we didn't miss our prescheduled tour of the Alhambra. From early morning until early afternoon we explored the Alhambra - starting with a guided tour of the Nasrid Palaces.
