Exploring Auckland, New Zealand: City of Sails


    

Often referred to as the "City of Sails", Auckland is both New Zealand's largest and most populous city. Located on the country's North Island, Auckland is one of the country's two busiest ports serving cruise passengers as well as commercial cargo shipments. In addition to a vibrant downtown area, Auckland is home to beaches, parks, rainforests and neighboring volcanic islands.

Just a collection of photos from our one day in Auckland - both strolling around the port area and a short driving tour courtesy of our Airbnb host. Even though we only had one full day during this visit to the city, it was the perfect end to almost two weeks of exploring the North Island.
