Small Town Bankersmith, Texas: Population 0

Located in the Texas Hill Country, the small Texas town Bankersmith got its name from an early 1900s bank president named Temple Doswell Smith who financed the railroad. With a current population of zero, the ghost town advertises as being home to the original Texas Dance Hall. There's also a saloon, lodging, a restaurant, working farm and dance hall.

What was the last place you visited that you never even knew existed?

Earlier this summer, a neighbor gave us tickets to a "hot air balloon fest" less than two hours from our home. Sadly, the balloons never took off, but we had such a fun day exploring some things that we never knew existed!

We were instructed to pick up our passes at a place called Bankersmith, Texas - a short drive from Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country. As it turns out, this small town (ghost town, really) has festivals on most Saturdays throughout the year. They also have live music on many days (usually picker's circles and local artists).
