This striking medieval tower was well positioned to defend the area near the Bay of Lisbon. We toured the inside of Belem Tower where we had a chance to enjoy the view from the rooftop plaza. It was so easy to use the local subway to travel along the coastline to get us from Lisbon to Belem.

Although we only spent a couple of days in the awesome city in Portugal, it made a lasting impression. Our almost new Airbnb accommodations were perfect in both location and decor. There was so much to see ... and the pastries that came so highly recommended were truly a treat! One of our favorite views was from Belem Tower, one of the best fortified towers located near the water that we've seen.
