The village of Bellaggio sits at the point where Lake Como splits into two different branches - one flowing toward Como and the other toward Lecco. With its mid-lake position that is quite unique and the amazing (and romantic) views, Bellaggio is the most popular town on the lake. The village sits on two levels - Via Garibaldi at the top and the lakeshore at the bottom. Getting from top to bottom is done via streets that are pedestrian only ... they are actually staircases!

We wrapped up our day exploring a few of the villages around Lake Como with a few hours in Bellaggio. Our original plan for our Lake Como stay didn't work out due to rain and not making reservations before traveling, but we enjoyed exploring three of the towns.
