Bermuda | St. George | King's Square | Town Square | St. George's Harbor | Dunking of the Wench | Nagging Wench | Tradition | Budget Friendly | Family Travel
Relive a tradition from the colonial years in King's Square at St. George, Bermuda. As the story goes, a local wench was charged with being a gossip. During her trial, she was sentenced to the punishment of dunking. The wench, with her wrists bound together, is escorted to the Town Square. After being seated on the dunking stool, she is given the opportunity to repent. When she refuses, she is dunked several times until she finally repents for her "crime"!
