Venice | Italy | Bridge of Sighs | Doges Palace | Canals | Piazzas | St Marks Square | What to See

Viewing The Bridge of Sighs in Venice

You can easily find Venice's famous Bridge of Sighs by walking along the southern harbor walk to the east of Doges Palace. When you come to a bridge crossing the canal, look inland toward the canal. From there, you'll see the famous bridge built in the early 1600s where criminals were taken from the prison to be questioned. It is amazing that very ornate architectures such as this one were used for these reasons.

Are you a fan of Venice, Italy?

From our experience, it seems that people either love or hate this Italian city. Since we have been frequent cruisers, we have visited the city on numerous occasions as Mediterranean cruises frequently stop in Venice. Even though we've been there multiple times, we find new places to visit and sights to see each time that we visit. As in many Italian cities, there is much history to see in Venice!
