Dating back to the early 1800s, the Burmese Buddhist Temple in George Town, Malaysia continues to expand with each passing year. Even for those who are not Buddhist, a visit to the Dhammikarama in Penang is fascinating. The grounds are beautifully manicured and there's something unique around each corner. From the many Buddhas to a bell tower, a fish pond with a bridge plus water features and amazing statues, you're sure to find at least one surprise during your visit.

From one Buddhist Temple to another! After leaving Penang's Thai Buddhist Temple, we walked directly across the street to the Burmese Buddhist Temple. Both were so beautiful, yet each so unique. We were most surprised at how vast the grounds were surrounding the main temple building. It took us more time than we expected to explore the compound ... and we didn't even climb the new bell tower.
