The cigars of La Palma, Canary Island have a long and important history on the island. After carefully preparing the seeds, tobacco is grown locally. Once the leaves are ready to begin the manufacturing process, they are hand chosen. Each cigar is hand rolled using the skillfully selected leaves to ensure a perfect blend - even the aroma is important!

Have you toured a business that offers a product that you really have no interest in?

Twice now, we have toured businesses which make cigars - once in Havana, Cuba (2017) and more recently in La Palma, Canary Islands (where this photo was taken in 2018). Neither Scott nor I have any interest in either smoking or buying cigars, but both of the tours were quite fascinating! It was really amazing to see the employees choosing the best leaves and hand rolling each of the cigars.
