South Africa | Cape Town | Cape Point | Cape Point Nature Reserve | Cape Point Lighthouse | Cape of Good Hope
The furthest southwest point on the African continent is known as the Cape of Good Hope. The Cape is located in the Cape Point Nature Reserve, a great place to see some of the continent's landscape and wildlife. Visitors can frequently be found arranging photos at the Cape of Good Hope sign and hiking or riding the funicular to the summit where one of the continent's oldest lighthouses, in operation for about 40 years, still stands.

If only we had more time at the Cape of Good Hope ... or, if only the funicular did not go out of service just minutes after we arrived! Oh well, we didn't get to ride or hike up to the top for the views, but we still made it to the furthest southwest point on the continent of Africa!
