Since we had previously explored Funchal, Madeira on foot, during our return visit on a 2017 transatlantic cruise, we joined a small group tour to Nuns' Valley. One of the stops was at a viewpoint where we captured this awesome view of the Church of St. Martin surrounded by the beautiful blue waters of the Atlantic.
Fun fact: The island of Madeira is actually a part of the country of Portugal!
