When the Celebrity Ascent cruise ship began sailing the world, two brothers became co-captains - a first in the cruise ship industry! Captains Dimitrios and Tasos Kafetzis alternate as captains of the ship. One of the brothers captains the ship for three months while the other spends time with his family and then they swap. For the first time since the ship launched, both brothers sailed together in the fall of 2025 on a transatlantic itinerary from Civitavecchia to Fort Lauderdale.
