Although the Chiesa di Santa Maria (Church of Santa Maria) doesn't have the visitor draw that the Duomo has, it's nearby and is worth a visit - even if it's a quick one. The structure, dating back to the latter 1400s, is the home of a famous painting of "Madonna with Child". When you enter the church, all appears normal ... but a closer look at the painting reveals an optical illusion!
