Completed in 1535, the Michelangelo Fortress in Civitavecchia, Italy is located near the city's cruise port. "Forte Michelangelo" features four round corner towers plus an octagonal tower. The fortress also has a (secret) underground passage. For a stroll around the fortress, the pedestrian promenade is open daily. On weekends, the interior courtyard of the fortress is also open to the public.

Social Media Description
We only had one afternoon (a rainy one at that) in Civitavecchia before embarkation day for our transatlantic cruise back to the US.
What you've done becomes the judge of what you're going to do — especially in other people's minds. When you're traveling, you are what you are right there and then. People don't have your past to hold against you. No yesterdays on the road. - William Least Heat Moon
