A Little Shopping & a Giant Adult Beverage in Cozumel

Located just east of the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico (and less than 2 hours from Cancun) is the island of Cozumel. Isla Cozumel is best known for the amazing scuba and snorkeling opportunities. The surrounding waters are blue, the sand is white and the coral and fish are plentiful. Those arriving by cruise ship who prefer a less active day can just explore the port and nearby area for a great shopping experience.

What's your favorite way to spend a day in Cozumel?

We can't even count the number of times we have spent port days in Cozumel. We have snorkeled, explored the island in old Volkswagens, spent a day in Xcaret, rode dune buggies and even joined a caravan tour where everyone drove newer convertible VWs. Although we aren't big shoppers, we decided to explore the shops both at the port and nearby before enjoying some nachos and margaritas with our cruise buddies. (Surprisingly, we even made a couple of purchases!)
