Since 2019, Budapest's Castle Hill has been getting a facelift. The goal of the long term restoration project is to reconstruct the buildings within the Buda Castle district so they look like they did when originally built. Many of the buildings atop the hill were damaged as far back as World War II. Although a number of buildings have already been completely restored, it is expected that the entire project won't be complete until 2030.
