Washington | Elbe | Mineral | Mount Ranier Scenic Railroad | Steam Train | Locomotive | Nisqually River | Mount Rainier
The Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad travels along tracks dating back over 100 years. It was the logging industry that the railroad originally served in the early 1900s. Today, passengers can take a 1 1/4 hour long narrated round trip ride on the rails leaving from Elbe, Washington. Your journey will be aboard a steam train with views of the forest, the Nisqually River and (on a clear day) maybe even the peak of Mt. Rainier.

We started Day 12 off with the drive between Port Angeles (near Olympic National Park) and Elbe, Washington. It was there where we boarded a historic steam train for a short trip through the lower river valleys & foothills of Mt. Rainier.
