Washington's North Cascades National Park was established in 1968. As compared to the 62 other National Parks in the system, North Cascades is among the least-visited. There is no entrance fee charged to explore the national park, yet it's the only national park that is home to over 300 glaciers (more than any other in the lower 48 states). Don't miss seeing the vivid turquoise colored waters of the glacier fed lakes including Diablo and Rainy Lakes.

Day 16 was our one and only day at the fifth National Park of our trip. We enjoyed the scenic drives, soaked in the views at scenic overlooks and hiked a few trails including Trail of the Cedars and Ladder Creek Falls in Newhalem plus Rainy Lake Trail - all at North Cascades National Park!
