Do-It-Yourself Day Excursion: Guadeloupe's Gosier Island

Guadeloupe | Caribbean | Ilet du Gosier | Gosier Island | Beach Day | Beach Break | Swim | Snorkel | Picnic | Cruise | Circle Caribbean Cruise
For cruise ship passengers, getting to Ilet du Gosier requires a taxi ride from the port area followed by a short ferry ride from the pier near Plage de La Datcha. (Make sure you have euros!) Because the island is small (you can walk around the entire island in less than 30 minutes), it's not high on the radar of tourists. If you do make the trip, you'll find plenty of local families relaxing in the shallow water or enjoying a picnic.

Social Media Description
A taxi plus a short ferry ride took us from Guadeloupe's largest island (Grand Terre) to the more remote Gosier Island. We felt more like we were in a foreign land as French was the primary language spoken all around us. (It was a weekend, so there were mostly locals enjoying this slice of paradise!)
