Denali National Park is known for its thriving population of grizzly bears. The grizzly bear population is most active during the months of May through September. It is usually reported that grizzlies are most commonly spotted along Denali Park Road between miles 20 and 60 (but don't be surprised if you see them elsewhere as well). The diet of a grizzly consists mostly of grasses, roots and berries!

Of our day and a half of exploring Denali National Park, our favorite moment was spotting a grizzly bear near mile marker 15. The grizzly was busily eating soapberries and had no interest in the nearby humans (we were on a transit bus so not in any danger)!
