Guest entertainers like Alex Yost are contracted to perform aboard cruise ships all around the world. Some perform just a small number of shows and others stay onboard for the duration of the cruise. Although these entertainers usually report to the Cruise Director while onboard, they are not considered a member of the cruise ship staff. Because of this, they enjoy the comforts of a passenger cabin and all of the ship amenities.
