On A Clear Day You Can See the Kansas City Skyline

Kansas City's Penn Valley Park can be found at West 29th Street and Broadway Boulevard. The location for the park was chosen due to its history. "Penn Street Ravine" was originally a part of the Santa Fe Trail used by pioneers heading west. Today's park is home to tennis courts, ball fields, a fitness trail, a lake and some great statues. From the statue known as "The Scout", on a clear day, the view of the downtown skyline is amazing.

Do you like skyline views?

I've always enjoyed seeing great skyline views. I don't even mind climbing stairs to get to the top of a tower or other nearby site to get an even better view. I also think it is interesting to see how skylines change over time.

We got lucky with a great skyline view during our recent stay in Kansas City. We parked at an upper entrance to Penn Valley Park and walked on fairly level ground to "The Scout" statue that has become the city's mascot. From there, we were rewarded with this view!
