Malaysia | Penang | Georgetown | Kek Lok Si Temple | Buddhist Temple | Inclined Lift | Cruise | Shore Excursion
The name Kek Lok Si Temple means the "Temple of Supreme Bliss". Located on a hilltop not far from the port city of Georgetown, Penang, Kek Lok Si is the largest Buddhist temple in the country. A ride upon the inclined lift takes visitors from the temple's mid-section up to the top level. The lift, the first of its kind in the country, comes at a small additional cost, but is highly recommended.

Before leaving the Kek Lok Si Temple, we rode the inclined lift to the upper level. We were lucky that our visit coincided with the season of the Chinese New Year as the decorative dragons were on display. In addition to exploring the upper tier of the temple, we also enjoyed panoramic views of the surrounding area.
