One of three swimming spots on the all day snorkel journey with Bali's Lembongan Water Sport is in a protected bay known as Manta Bay near Nusa Penida. It is there where an abundance of manta rays can often be seen gracefully swimming in the Indian Ocean. When the water is not too choppy, guests have the opportunity to swim among these huge yet harmless rays.

We reserved an all-day snorkel tour for our one full-day in Bali. We had high hopes of swimming with manta rays, however the waters were quite rough in the bay where they hang out. Scott did get in the water, but I opted to stay on the boat and watch from above. Thankfully, we were able to get this video from our guide!

Fun fact: When comparing brain size to body size, the brains of manta rays are larger than any other marine animal.
