Old Harrison County Courthouse Wonderland of Lights

In the late 1980s, an editor for the Marshall News Messenger had a vision of the Old Harrison County Courthouse all decked out in white lights. A large check was received from a native of Marshall, Texas (living overseas at the time) in response to a piece that was published in the newspaper starting with "Imagine this ...". Through the years, the "Wonderland of Lights" has grown, but the centerpiece remains the historic 1901 courthouse.

Where have you seen your favorite Christmas decorations?

Ever since living in East Texas in the mid-1990s, I've wanted to see the often talked about Christmas lights in Marshall, Texas. We finally were able to make my wish a reality earlier this month. As promised, the old courthouse building is beautiful when all decked out in white lights for the holiday season.
