Take a Ride in the Tallest Viewing Deck on a Cruise Ship

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to get a view of a cruise ship from above, the North Star is for you. Up to 14 passengers at a time can go up, up and 300-feet away in a capsule which offers a 360-degree view. A mechanical arm attached to the ship makes sure that everyone returns back to the ship within 20 minutes, just in time for the next group to have some fun. Those who reserve a time slot during a sea day won't just travel up, they also can go off to the sides of the ship!

What are some of your favorite cruise ship amenities?

Thinking back to our first cruises in the 1990's, it's hard to believe how different some cruise ships look today. We remember the days when it was the meals and evening entertainment that people talked about. Today, there is so much more to do on a cruise ship than in days gone bye.

Odyssey of the Seas (Quantum Ultra class) is not even one of the biggest ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet, but we did some things we've never done before on a cruise ship. Taking a ride on the North Star was a first for us - the pictures that we were able to take of the top decks of the ship were similar to some we might get from a drone!

What cruise ship amenities are you looking forward to?
