A rather unique "Parade of Hearts" has been on display between April and August each year in the Kansas City metro area. Local artists submit their designs in hopes of being chosen to create one of the hearts that will be on display in one of 70 cities in either Kansas or Missouri. The six-foot tall 2026 hearts each have a "keyhole heart" in the center. Following the display, the hearts are auctioned off to raise money for artists, nonprofit organizations and community groups in the heartland.

After noticing a heart sculpture during our recent visit to Kansas City, I did an online search and learned about the Parade of Hearts. The 2026 display has over 100 unique hearts around the city and nearby suburbs!
