English Landing Park and Main Street in Downtown Parkville (Missouri) become the home for weekend festivals each year. The city, located along the Missouri River, hosts the family friendly Parkville Days in August. Admission to the festival (including live music) is free. Tickets can be purchased for carnival rides plus there is a variety of food and arts and crafts available for purchase. Many of the city's downtown retail stores also host seasonal sales during the three-day event.

Although we are missing out on Parkville Days this weekend, we were in the Kansas City suburb over Memorial Day weekend. The city had a similar three-day Memorial Day Festival which we spent one evening walking through.
