Strolling the Point Dume Boardwalk in the Rain


    

Located on the coast of Malibu, California near Zuma Beach, Point Dume Natural Preserve is a great location for a panoramic photo. It's a short but slightly uphill hike along a boardwalk that leads out to a deck with sweeping views over the Pacific Ocean. In addition to the northern Malibu coast, when viewing conditions are right, you can see both the Santa Monica Bay and Santa Monica Mountains. On the best of days, you may even catch a glimpse of Catalina Island in the distance.

Have you ever had rainy weather before your early evening flight to return home?

That perfectly describes our last day in Southern California. The day started out dreary and rainy and never let up. But, we made the best of it!

After a nice breakfast, we headed from our Airbnb toward LAX, making a few stops along the way. Our favorite was at Point Dume Natural Preserve where we walked out along the boardwalk. Since we had our umbrellas, all we could really do was to imagine how awesome the views would be on a clear day!
