Bookend a Day in Portovenere on the Promenade

One of the first things that nearly everyone notices as they arrive in Portovenere is the harbor (and promenade). Although you may have a list of places in the village that you want to see, go ahead and spend a little time getting your bearings while enjoying the promenade. With your back to the water, Old Town will be in front of you with the Chiesa Di San Lorenzo and Doria Castle towering above. Both Byron's Grotto and the Church of St. Peter will be to your far left.
