For about six years, Ramses IV was the ruler over what is known today as ancient Egypt. His tomb (KV2) can be found in the Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile River in Luxor. Getting inside the tomb requires navigating some downward steps, and once inside you'll be glad you chose to visit one of the valley's largest and most popular tombs. With scenes from his life and so much more, the ancient Egyptian artwork inside the corridors is amazing.

On day two of our Nile River Cruise, we crossed over to the west bank of the Nile to explore the Valley of the Kings. Because the sun sets in the west, structures on the west side of the river are dedicated to the afterlife. We were amazed at the ancient Egyptian artwork inside the tomb of Ramses IV. (If we had more time, it would have been very interesting to spend time deciphering the petroglyphs!)
