The Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile River in Luxor is the site where nearly all of the 18th, 19th and 20th dynasty Egyptians Kings were buried. Because the tombs were carved into the sides of mountains, the interior chambers never received any direct sunlight. Like these pictographs inside the tomb of Ramses IX (KV6), the stories illustrated in pictures inside the tombs remain in excellent condition.

Three tombs are included in the standard ticket price for the Valley of the Kings. Next up for us was the tomb of Ramses IX, known for being among the three longest serving kings and also for the "tomb robbing trials" held during his reign.
