Exploring the Streets of Salisbury, England

A visit to Salisbury, England must include a stop at the famous Salisbury Cathedral - even if you don't have time to go inside. The exterior of the cathedral, built between 1220 and 1258, is amazing. Today, it's spire is the tallest of all church spires in the country. In addition to having one of the oldest working clocks anywhere in the world, Salisbury Cathedral is known for having the most well preserved of the four original copies of the Magna Carta.

Do you prefer to explore bigger cities (like London) or smaller cities (like Salisbury)?

Following our 2016 cruise around the British Isles, we wanted to spend time exploring London. Since we disembarked the cruise ship in Southampton, we also hoped to see some of the sights in between the two cities. We found a bus tour that made stops at Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and in the city of Salisbury. Although we didn't have time to tour the cathedral's interior, we did explore the grounds at Salisbury Cathedral before strolling the city streets.

What are some of your favorite places to explore in England?
