Even in just one port day, those arriving into the Port of San Francisco by cruise ship can get a taste of the city. It's easy to catch a glimpse of Ghirardelli Square, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and the iconic skyline as you sail to and from the port. Upon disembarking, passengers will almost immediately see Coit Tower, the Transamerica Pyramid building and the Oakland Bay Bridge. Fisherman's Wharf and the Aquarium of the Bay are a short walk away.

Having lived in a San Francisco suburb as a teen plus visiting numerous times in the years since, we stayed near the port for our few hours in the "City by the Bay". We still enjoyed seeing some of the city's iconic sites - and easily met our daily step goals!
