New Zealand | Tasman Sea | Hokianga Harbour | Signal Station Track | Viewpoint | Lookout | Hiking | New Zealand North Island Road Trip
When exploring New Zealand on a road trip, be on the lookout for roadside signage with directions to lookouts. If you have a little extra time, making a stop can be a great break, and you'll likely see something unexpected. Making a stop to do the short Signal Station Track in the Northland is a perfect example - short deviation, perfect way to stretch your legs and awesome harbor and sea views!

Do you stop when you see highway signs "advertising" lookouts?
The short Signal Station Track was the perfect break to one of our driving days in the Northland Region of New Zealand. Our stop was unplanned (we just saw a road sign and decided to check it out) but worth every minute. The hike was short, but a great break from hours in the car, and the views were amazing!
