Ride one of the eight-seater gondola cabins to the top of Mount Ngongotaha for some amazing birds-eye views over the town and Lake Rotorua. Once you've reached "Skyline Rotorua", there's a variety of ways to occupy your time including limited hiking trails, mountain biking, luge, zip-lining, swinging (with a twist), shopping and even wining and dining. Before returning to your starting point, be sure to look for evidence that the valley below is geothermal (i.e. steam)!

We had hopes to do a little more hiking once we exited the Skyline Rotorua gondola at the top of Mount Ngongotaha. Unfortunately, two of the trails that we had planned on completing were closed to hikers. The good news is that we found some other fun things to do before heading back down on the gondola (hint: the luge and the Jelly Belly store).
