Vatican City | St. Peter's Basilica | Church | Jubilee | Holy Door | Porta Sancta | Christianity | Catholic | Italy | Rome
The world's smallest country is home to the world's biggest church! Located in the Vatican City (a country that is surrounded by Rome, Italy) stands Saint Peter's Basilica. It is the largest church in the world and considered one of the most holy Christian sites. One of the entry doors to the church is a "Holy Door" which is only opened during a Jubilee year. (There are three other Holy Doors at three other major basilicas in Rome.) 2025 was the most recent Jubilee year and an extraordinary jubilee year is planned for 2033 (the 2,000th anniversary of Jesus' death).

Social Media Description
We'd explored St. Peter's Basilica during a couple of previous visits to Vatican City, but never walked through the famous Holy Door. Our recent visit was during Jubilee 2025, so we didn't want to miss the unique opportunity ... and we did another quick stroll through the basilica.
