Escape Downtown's City Life in Vancouver's Stanley Park

Not every city has a nearly 1,000 acre park in its downtown area, but Vancouver is one that does! Located in the northwest corner of Vancouver's downtown, Stanley Park was also the city's first park. In addition to the many things that people expect in a park (trees, trails, nature, manicured gardens and kid-friendly activities), Stanley Park is home to beaches, a seawall walk, historical landmarks, an aquarium and some amazing views of the surrounding area.

Where is your favorite park?

Since we are usually striving to meet a daily step goal, we often look for outdoor places to visit as we are out and about exploring the world. So glad that we found Stanley Park in downtown Vancouver. It was located close enough to our hotel to get there on foot, but with its tall trees, expansive grassy areas and lack of skyscrapers, it felt worlds away. We only spent an afternoon exploring the park, so we didn't even discover all that the park offers - but we got a good taste!
