It is said that there are over 2,000 squares (piazzas) in Rome. With about 500 square miles in the city, that equates to more than four piazzas per square mile! While some piazzas are quite large, there are others on the small side - but each has its own history. During almost any stroll through the city, multiple squares will be passed. Be on the lookout for your favorite architecture in the form of a fountain, column, obelisk or statue!
