Free to visit, Victoria Gardens (or Jardin Victoria) on the Canary Island of Tenerife, was opened in the latter 1800s. With beautiful and colorful flowers filling terraced gardens, manicured grounds, bubbling fountains and a view that can't be beat, the gardens are perfect for an afternoon break. A mausoleum located at the top of the hill was built for Diego de Pinte, the Marquise of Quinta Roja. According to legend, there was a family dispute so he was never buried in the crypt.

We needed a "stretch your legs" break, so we made a stop at Victoria Gardens on the island of Tenerife. The terraced gardens are beautifully manicured, the history was interesting and the view from up above is amazing.
