The Wayang Studio, located on Fatahillah Square in Jakarta, is a fun place for anyone interested in the local culture that has been passed down for generations. Combined, the nearby museum and the studio have thousands of puppets on display (with many for sale in the studio). Meet the creator and puppetmaster, learn how puppets are created, watch a puppet show and look at the many amazing (and very detailed) puppets on site. It's hard to leave without making a purchase to remember your time in Jakarta!

With just one day in Jakarta, we didn't have time to visit the puppet museum, but we did squeeze in a puppet show at Wayang Studio. Even in the studio, there are more puppets than you can count. I can't even imagine what we might have seen in the museum!

Fun fact: The Wayang Puppet Museum is recognized on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. (Being honest, it's a list I didn't even know existed!)
