Germany | Munich | Munchen | Dachau | Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site | Nazi | Hitler | Schutzstaffel | SS
Dating back to 1933, Germany's Dachau Concentration Camp was one of the first Nazi camps where political prisoners (and others) were forced to live. Located in southern Germany, the city of Dachau is only about 10 miles northwest of Munich. A ride on the S-Bahn line S2 brings people to the Dachau Bahnhof. From there, either ride bus 726 or walk along the Path of Remembrance to the entrance of the memorial site.

Ever since my first visit to Germany nearly 30 years ago, I've wanted to tour a concentration camp. We finally had a chance to learn more about the history of a camp dating back over 90 years during the several hours that we spent at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.
