Alaska | Denali | Denali National Park | Sled Dog Kennels | Morino Trail | Spruce Forest Trail | Savage River Shuttle | Fall Colors
Denali National Park is home to about 30 sled dogs (aka huskies). The sled dog kennels are located about 3 miles from the Park Headquarters and visitors are welcome year-round. During the summer, daily demonstrations are offered at the kennels ... and what you see may not be what you expect. (Hint: these dogs are not preparing for an upcoming Iditarod!)

Social Media Description
We started off Day 37 at Denali's Sled Dog Kennels. After meeting the huskies and learning about their "jobs", we explored the National Park Visitor Center and hiked a couple of short (soggy) trails. After having enough of the rain, we rode one loop on the park's Savage River Shuttle - the falls colors were stunning, even in the rain! We wrapped up our day aboard the Denali Star train enroute to Fairbanks.
