If you are planning a road trip in the state of Oregon, be sure to check your route to see if a coastal drive will work. Not only will you enjoy the drive along the water with the many picturesque natural scenes, you may also be able to pass some of the state's lighthouses. Between the Umpqua National Forest and the town of Tillamook, you can pass the Umpqua River Lighthouse, Heceta Head Lighthouse, Yaquina Bay Lighthouse and Yaquina Head Lighthouse. If you have the energy for a short hike, you can also include Munson Creek Falls during your journey.

Our Day 6 drive took us along a part of the Oregon coastline. While researching destinations for our trip, we saw a map of lighthouses along the state's coast. Without too many extra miles, we were able to plan our route so that we could make photo stops near several lighthouses with a final stop at Munson Creek Falls.
