There are a number of choices for visitors of the Tillamook Creamery in Tillamook, Oregon. All tours are best enjoyed on a week day when the production floor is in operation. There is no charge for a self-guided tour, and cheese sampling is included. Although guests who reserve guided tours also view the operation through the viewing gallery, a guide explains the process along the way. Make sure to allow time for some ice cream or even a meal (not included in tour prices).

We tried to make a plan to tour the Tillamook Creamery over five years ago. On Day 7 of our 2026 journey, we were finally able to make that visit a reality. Unfortunately, since we were there on a weekend, the production floor was not in operation (but, we were still able to taste cheese and ice cream)! As we continued our drive up to Washington state, we also made a number of additional stops along the second day of our coastal drive.
