Washington's Olympic Peninsula is known for the Olympic Mountains, but there is so much more to the peninsula than just the mountain range. From rain forests like the Quinault Rain Forest with its nature trail plus the rugged Pacific coastline with its unique beach scenery (picture driftwood ... and lots of it), save some time during any trip to Olympic National Park to explore more of the peninsula.

The main purpose of Day 9 of our road trip was to get us from Mount St. Helens to Olympic National Park. Since I get bored on long drives as a passenger, I always search for stops that we can make along the way that will break up our drive. The Quinault Rain Forest Nature Trail, Lake Quinault Lodge and World's Largest Sitka Spruce plus Kalaloch Beach 4 and Ruby Beach were perfect for breaking up our drive!
