By Day or in Lights: The Hungarian Parliament

Hungary | Budapest | Danube River | Pest | Hungarian Parliament | National Assembly | Government | Architecture | History
One of the most well known buildings in Budapest is the Hungarian Parliament located near the Danube River. (Nearly every cruise company advertisement for river cruises features the domed building.) It's the exterior architecture that is most recognizable, but a tour of the interior is quite popular. Two of the biggest draws for tourists are the opportunities to see the gold dome and the Crown Jewels. It's best to make your reservation in advance so you don't have to give up your time while in Budapest waiting in line and hoping you'll find a tour in your language that meets your schedule!

Social Media Description
Even though we thought the price was kind of high, we had decided to take the popular tour of the Hungarian Parliament building in Budapest. We left our hotel early and were greeted by a much longer than expected line with tours already sold out well into the late afternoon. We skipped the wait in line (& the tour) but enjoyed seeing the building exterior both during daytime and at night.
